Aiming for a time of 4 hours.
This may be one of the last blog posts on under311.com. Future blogging will be on under311blog.com as this site will grow into something much bigger in 2009. Stay tuned.
I’ve only run once since Austin three weeks ago… and that run barely lasted four miles – my legs were killing me! Crossing the finish line in Austin was a small miracle. So I’ve been taking it easy, getting my rest (the best medicine!) – but have still been making time for the gym every other day for weights and biking. Next big run? NYC Marathon 2008!!!
I’ve been coming up with some ideas to take this site/idea a step further. Stay tuned.
Ran Austin in a time of 4:50… which was absolutely fine by me since I didn’t train (!!!) and the goal was just to finish!
Completeing the whole thing was really up in the air since I hadn’t run for a month, and my previous training run had me limping one loop around Central Park (only 6 miles!!). But I finished… even though by mile 25 I was moving like an old lady speedwalker.

26.2 miles in Austin this Sunday. I leave tonight. And after being diagnosed by a few runners with “IT Band” injury (which as Jules says, “sounds made up!!!”), the goals for this race have changed drastically from the last. My mindset is as follows: Don’t hurt yourself. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. One step at a time.
Under 3:11? Not a chance. But maybe under 5:11…!!!
Thanks again to everyone who followed and supported my Philadelphia run.
Up next… 26.2 miles in the Austin Marathon!!!
February 17, 2008. Austin, TX. More info to come.
