Busy day yesterday (aka normal day). All day at work, walked home (2.5 miles), walked to New York Road Runners to get my race number for Sunday (2 miles), ran quick 20 in Carl Shurz Park, played basketball at Dalton, and finally got home at 10:30. But as Andy Dufresne says in Shawshank – “Get busy living, or get busy dying”!!!
Hanging out with my friends recently yielded some unorthodox speed advice. They suggested, since I’m trying to run a fast race, I should get into the habit of doing EVERYTHING fast! Walk fast. Poop fast. Eat fast. Yom Kippur tonight, which means those suggestions will have to wait till at least Sunday. No eating/drinking… LOTS of praying on tap for the next 24 hours.
Next run: 13.1 miles at 7 AM Sunday in Queens! 1:35 goal! Bigtime test for me!
