45 degrees with crisp air in New York City tonight. Just the way I like it!! Since yesterday’s long weekend run was shortened to only 5-6 miles, I HAD to get in a 30 minute trot tonight. Even with a full day at the office, a movie afterwards with my sister, and dinner at 10:30, I laced up the New Balance, threw on a sweatshirt, and raced off into the night! Now I am finally just getting the time to type (12:30 AM!!)!
Anyway, I was wondering the past few days why I had pain in my lower back and neck… areas which haven’t hurt since I first started running about a year ago. The answer was right in front of me… or directly below me, to be exact. I checked my running log – after every run I log the miles run, my pace, what sneakers I wore, etc. – and it turns out I’ve run nearly 400 miles in my red Nikes!! Feels like I just bought them! So they’ve been retired from the training batch. On to New Balance and my racing Nikes! Hope they heal the new pain I’ve been having in my overused legs!!!
20 days and counting. Still got $2,000 to raise and 26.2 miles to run in under 3:11. I intend to do both!
